Hypothermia warning to clubbers
Young people in Somerset are being warned of the dangers of emerging from hot clubs into freezing conditions.
Street pastors in Taunton said many people did not go out dressed for sub-zero temperatures and could suffer from hypothermia as a result.
Chairman Vince Carrington said it was particularly bad after one of the clubs organised a foam night.
“They were coming out at 3am absolutely soaking wet. We gave one a dry t-shirt and she was very grateful,” he said.
Street pastors offer offer help and advice to those who are lost, in need of a taxi or medical attention or who need someone to talk to.
