How not to do an American accent

Fun video for those interested in British and American accent differences (or should I say “the difference between the British mother tongue and the American accent variant”?):

Very interesting. I wish the video were longer.

American’s don’t have accents, it’s the rest of you that do…

English-speaking Italians don’t have accents, it’s just the rest of you lot, heh?.

how come Americans sound different to other Americans then?

Still, the UK, rules for regional accents. Where else can you travel a mere 20 miles from your place of birth and residence for your entire life, and meet people who you literally cannot understand.

I have lived in this area (southern USA) for 45 years. There are English speaking, USA born people here who I cannot converse with because I still don’t understand much of what they are saying.

All Americans sound the same to me: “Blah blah blah blah”…

…and people wonder why I talk to cats.

People from other English-speaking countries of the world sound like they have been stung on the tongue by some nasty insect that has cause their speech to become impaired and ugly.

UK - Wasp
NZ - Hornet
OZ - Stingray
SA - Scorpion

Isn’t that why all those people came to America a long time ago? To escape the bugs that sting your tongue and make you sound like Mary Poppins.
