I just wanted to see how much land you guys own. I (or i guess u could say my parents, since im 16) own 60 acres of woods. Does anyone own more than that?
wow, lol I own 1 acre:)
I don’t own any, but I want to buy a peice of land that is 120 Sq. Ft.
Define “own”.
I live in a condo currently, so I “own” a fraction of interest in the land that the complex is built on.
Before, I owned a house that was built on a parcel that was about 1/6 of an acre.
As a taxpayer, I “own” a fraction of all public land under the jurisdiction of the City of San Ramon, Contra Costa County, the State of California, and the U.S.
we just have a small 3 acres…
Our lot is 128x75 but until I have a land patent on it, I won’t ever own it entirely.
We, along with the bank, mostly the bank, have a little less than an acre. 1/4 of an acre is where our house and backyard is. The rest is part of an overgrown ravine that our town foisted on us, and our neighbors, when they needed to divest of it in order to get some state money to develop other parts of the town.
Small though our lot is, stuck in the middle of milktoast suburban New Jersey, it is a little piece of heaven on earth which we’re grateful to be able to afford and call our own.
My neighbor owns over 100 acres! He is a little crazy though.
Unless your a farmer or something, why would anybody need more than like Acre.
Well, I suppose you don’t mind having a backyard that is too small to do anything on? No privacy unless you have an 8 foot high fence?
Acctually that’s good that some people like living like that. More room for everyone else!
What is it you do in your backyard that you couldn’t just as easily do in a shared public space?
Privacy is overrated. Humans are social animals so why would you want to distance yourself from everybody else?
Frolic in the buff, for one.
We uhh…own our house?
Any “Acerage” in LA county for example, like, say Beverly hills, or even Torrance, CA will be in the MILLIONS of bucks! (Considering current property valuses.) Of course, you can get waaaaay more land, and yes, acres of land for much, MUCH less; depending on WHERE it is. It’s all about Location, Location, Location. I may not have an “acre” of land surrounding my house, but I’m darn proud to own my home! And it’s not too bad living close to the beach! (Now there’s some high-priced diggs!)
i dont own it, my parents do, we’ve got about 10 acres and it’s about 15 minutes from the middle of the city.
my parents own about 56 arceas of land. we are currently building a house on it so we dont live there as yet. atm we are living on pretty much no land at all but i use my whole suburb as my backyard.
My family has about 45 acres… It’s full of ravines and valleys and a stream. I live on Mast Landing Road where the English used to harvest pine trees for masts for their ships back in colonial times. Needless to say, we have many large pines. I keep thinking our land would be great for some North Shore riding, but I don’t have the time to build anything like that. We also have about 2 acres of land near Sugarloaf (ski area) that borders the Bigelow Preserve, a public land trust. It’s great access for bushwhacking.
We have half an acre that my parents bought about 20 years ago for $13k. The land alone is now worth about $300k.
Yeah, wow.
We back up to a 17,000 acre state park, so it’s the fact that nobody will be able to build around us that makes the property ideal in this rapidly-growing small town.
To store all of your cars, for one.
There is also lots of space to unicycle, keep horses, drive bulldozers, race go-karts, etc. The opportunities never end.
Because we all have horses, bulldozers, and dozens of cars…
A few friends and I once turned on a bulldozer in a construction lot, it drove in circles until it ran out of gas …
