How many unis?

Just wonderin’! I’ve been riding 1 wheel for less than a year and already have
three unicycles. People (friends and family) act like this is a weird thing but
I can think of a few (Coker) more I’d like to have!

How long have you been riding and how many in your “corral?” Favorite?

RE: How many unis?

Well…I’ve been riding for about a year and a half and I’m also up to three
unis. 1st - Schwinn 24" 2nd - Coker 3rd - Semcycle 5’ Girraffe (aka DeathCycle).

I ride the Coker about five times as much as the other two. You really should
consider one for speed and distance.

Re: [How many unis?]

I’ve been riding for four and a half years and currently have 5 unicycles + an
ultimate wheel. In addition I have sold one unicycle (regret doing that) and
trashed 4.

My current collection includes: 20" Miyata 20" Semcycle 20" Taiwanese no name
24" Taiwanese no name 5 1/2 ft giraffe

On the waiting list are 28" DM 26" Muni 8 ft giraffe.

The collection would be larger but I have a shortage of cash:-( My favourite
would probably be the Miyata although my 24" is looking pretty stylish since its
last major rebuild.

Re: How many unis?

I’ve been riding almost 3 years and have:

20" Semcycle 24" Miyata Telford w/24x3" Gazz Coker

I ride the Coker the most mileage-wise, but of course have the most fun on the
Telford. In our garage we also have another 24" Miyata and a 20" Miyata too.
Since my whole family rides I don’t have the problem with spousal resistance
to acquiring more unis, in fact we just got the second Miyata 24 yesterday. My
son is dying for a 5’ giraffe though, and he wants an ultimate wheel, and a
12", and …

PS It’s not a weird thing!

Ok, I’m game.

I’ve been riding a little over a year and I currently have 2 unicycles, a 24"
Summit (Taiwanese, similar to a Savage or Cyclepro) and a Coker.

My favorite depends on what I’m doing and what mood I’m in. If I’m riding with
my 3 year old son (on his little bike), I’ll always ride the 24" 'cause it’s
slower and matches his speed better (actually, I need to do a lot of idles or
half idles 'cause he can be veeeery slooooow at times). If I’m riding with my 5
& 8 year old girls (again on their bikes), I’ll pick the Coker 'cause it’s
better able to keep up with them.

If I want to go a long way, it’s the Coker. If I want to work on skills,
it’s the 24".

Frankly, it’s only a lack of funds that prevents me from having at least one or
two more. I’d eventually like to get a 20", a better quality 24", and a trail
unicycle (I don’t think I’d ride anything too extreme). I’ve been thinking about
getting a Sem Deluxe next. But probably my first purchase will be a seat upgrade
for the Summit. Getting tired of having my inner thighs bruised up by that
brutal seat! (on the other hand, that seat is GREAT for grabbing hold of, it’s
just a little too wide in front…)

RE: How many unis?

Here comes my 2 pennies worth…

I’ve been riding for just over 3 months and starting off with a 20". The exact
make is unknown but was bought from Beard juggling in the UK - anyone any ideas?
This has had new pedals, tire and seat added to it. Next was a Coker - new
pedals and seat to this as well. Just last night I ordered my third - a Pashley
26" Muni with replacement tyre and seat. At this rate I’m on track for going
broke in a couple of months

As for favourites… since I have one road and one play uni they’re both best
for what they can do. I spend most of my time farting around on the 20" but the
Pashley might well take the #1 spot…

Cheerly, Neil
