Unicycles and related equipment are anything but free. People think that they are pointless, that they are useless. People think that splined unis, which are expensive, are a waste of money.
People are wrong, and I will prove it.
Here is my example. I told somebody I know about MUni (well, he asked about it as it was in my MSN name). He just said: “Mountain Unicycling? Thats the most retarted waste of time ever.”
Is it really? This same guy baught a PSP and has a bunch of games and is getting a Xbox 360 this week. Hmm, whats a bigger waste of time? Sitting on your ass and having fun pushing buttons or going outside with friends and getting excersise while having a blast?
This justifies my unicycle expenses as well. My friends are all into the whole video game thing. I am not. I own an XBox that I baught long ago, a purchase which I regret, because I never use the thing (and I never want to). Him on the other hand, well, lets see (all in CND).
PSP: $229.99
Logitek Case (which he owns): $34.99
1 gig memory card: $79.99
XBox 360: $499.99
Thats 844.96 before taxes, or with taxes where I live it comes to: $963.25
Then we add buying a game for each system per month for a year. Each game costs about $50. I think this is a fair average.
So for one year, with taxes at a rate of $50 per game comes to: $1368.
Holy crap. Lets add that up. For one year, his gaming expenses will be around $2331.25. Thats a lot of unicycles. For that coin, I could buy two KHs, a Koxx signature freestyle, some BCs and still have money to spare!
So what makes more sense? Paying more to sit on your ass and have fun or paying less to get off the couch, get outside, get excersise and have fun! You tell me.
By not buying things like video games, I can reason spending money on unicycles.
How do you justify buying your uni stuff?
