I haven’t tried yet, and i know ppl will probably just say, “Go try it and find out,” but i just wanted to know how hard is it to grind? I mean, compared to say learning to ww, or glide, or any other trick, is it really that hard? It looks very impressive i must say, but is it one of those “it looks harder than it is”, like the suicide mount and unispin, or is it really that difficult??? And it seems that as soon as someone can grind, they consider themselves a street unicyclist, just wondering if being able to ok hops, 180s off stuff and grinding is basically what a street unicyclist is, or whether there is more to it than that???
This was a question I was asking myself a while back as well. Now I can grind and I can tell you its not that hard. The hardest part is finding something to grind on. Once you’ve got a rail, bench etc just rolling hop into a crank grab, your momentum will just cary you into the slide. It took me 2-3 tries to get a feel for the slide, once you can go along with the slide its easy.
yes 180s down stuff and grinds but also about how smooth you can do something… if it only takes you 1 hop to do etc. and riding away nicely… although hard to do, not have your arms flailing around everywhere.
then you can go bigger as you get around to it.
try 360s, no footers, unispins, 180 grinds, no footers to 180 grind etc.
thats a bit of steet.
grinding isnt hard at all… like a moving crank grab. just start off small.
