Us Europeans are very sensitive types. We weren’t allowed 90 seconds worth of 24 when it first came out because you never know, our economies may collapse due to us all hiding behind our sofas. It’s just too risky to show us anything too disturbing.
They kept the few seconds of the cameraman in view after Jack shot Nina, though…

Re: how come you Euro’s cant see a head butt?
I sort of knows a guy who does that kind of editing (the actual cutting, not the choosing). He told me they usually edit out violence that they don’t feel is important for the plot.
If you look closely you can clearly see how unimportant that particular head butt was compared to the rest of the movie.

it was the government over there that wouldnt let it be seen, thats censorship not editing.
i think that a Jedi head butting anyone is an important seen.i wonder if the DVD is cesored too…
Its not government, it’s the distributers. When it’s done by a company it is editing, when done by the government it’s censorship. I don’t care much which it is since in the end it means that I don’t get to see the cool stuff.
They do the editing to keep from getting the “Not suitable for children under 16” label on the movie poster (I don’t know what equivalent rating is in the US). The government does decide what rating the movie get, but that’s all.
What I hear is that for the danish audience violence is removed, for the american audience nudity is removed.
It’s all a matter of getting a bigger audience and more money out of it.
We’re a solid bunch
Hey, how come a Jedi needs to head-butt anybody?
The fact that his opponent is wearing a helmet makes him look pretty tough though…
Obi-Wan head butting is another example of his defiance and inexperiance. Obi-Wan is a very stubbern Jedi.
