Hotting Up a Unicycle!

Roight! I’m after ANY Ideas anyone has about how to hot up a Unicycle. I have
previously painted it flourescent green but have restored it’s original chrome
colour. I have a new all black seat and an old white tyre. Some ideas I have had
include pinstipes up and down the poles. Streamers threaded through the spokes
look OK to start with but soon start to look tacky

Lets get some ideas cookin’!!

Re: Hotting Up a Unicycle!

Toss it in the oven for a bit. But don’t put it in a microwave unless the
unicycle’s label says it’s ‘microwave-safe’. )-o

Re: Hotting Up a Unicycle!

I put plastic discs over the spokes on both sides of the wheel. It gave the
impression of having a racing wheel and looked really cool. You can also paint
the discs.

Re: Hotting Up a Unicycle!

I got some great reflectors that bolt to your axle. they are a three pointed
star and rotate with the wheel

very funky indeed.

Wayne.

Renegade club decoration foils.

I used red facets to match the rest of my props, and people are always
complimenting me on my glittery stuff…It really does look good!

Try making some “eyes” for it using different colors of reflective tape.

Re: Hotting Up a Unicycle!

I saw some coloured beads on a kids bike once. They were attached to the spokes
and slid up and down as the wheel went around. Not sure whether this is “hotting
up” or just plain naff!

How about a playing card in the spokes to make a truely annoying sound!

I reckon one of those fade coloured paint jobs could look good. For example the
top part of the frame could be red but fading to yellow as you go down the frame
towards the hub. It looks cool on some MTBs anyway.

Why not take up MUni and get it covered in mud. That looks way cool and could
save some hard earned cash…

Re: Hotting Up a Unicycle!

I think so. I personally haven’t tried it, but as soon as I get the money…
I’ve heard of other people doing it.

As far as making the uni look better, I have checkered contact paper on mine,
and I like the way it looks. But I think it’s just about time for a change. I
have some 3M reflective tape I’m going to try next.

Cycle computers work great on the uni.

I am just using one now. IT is VERY amazing how far you go on a UNI just by
riding around a bit and havin’ fun.

Unfortunately the CYCLE computer has to be either in the seat or under it on the
post so you have to be relatively flexible to read it while riding as long as
you keep it low enough to see.

Anyone seen any Wireless cycle computers yet you could were as a watch? Just
a thought.

Re: Hotting Up a Unicycle!

OK, now this message is for all of you…

Dang it! For all you smarty-arsies who said to learn to ride it first…I CAN
RIDE IT ALREADY!!! I can ride forwards backwards sidewards and up and down
(hopping that
is…not really riding vertically as that is impossible!) I can also ride one
footed and waltz one footed so NYAAAAAAAAA! So stop sending me messages
telling me to learn to ride it first!!! The reason I wanted to know how to
beef it up was for a bicycle show-and-shine they were having at my school, I
was entering my uni. =D

OK, So now that that’s cleared up I’d like to thank everyone for all their
contributions. I think I’ll just go for metallic contact or stickers
though…Thanks Again!
