Hot sauce is gewd…
I am a hot sauce enthusiast, I’ve tried many kinds from all over the world. Most people don’t like heat, but I can’t understand why. Habenero sauce is the shizz.
somethings worng with this stuff, my hearts racing… beyond beliefe…
mind the typing, its because of this stuff. its liek sending my mind through the ROOPFF
oh my gooooood…
my teeth are vibrating… is that normal? same with my cheeks…,
my teeth are serious to god vibrating… my cheeks are tingly/vibraty…
You want to talk to JC.
hot sauce=orgasm. i might be exaggerating a bit but hot sauce is amazing. i got a big ol bottle of that spicy red stuff they have at chinese restaurants. i love it and dump it on everything. hot sauce ftw!!!
Hot sauce is gewd. That is all.
The stuff with the rooster on it? I think it’s called Sriracha. It’s good!
Habanero stuffed olives are a nice treat.
Habanero is where hot sauces get interesting. Anything less is not hot.
Sometimes I like hot sauce for the flavor of the pepper, maybe I’m the only one.
Finally someone who knows. Habenero IS hot sauce, everything else should be called cold sauce.
It is about the flavor in combination with the spicy heat. Habanero sauces happen to have just the right balance of the two for me.
I’m not into the extreme hot sauces like Dave’s Insanity. Those are more chemical concoction than pepper hot sauce. I stay with the habanero hot sauces where all the heat comes naturally from the habaneros and other peppers and not from adding extract.
I’m a daily hot sauce user. I like to switch things up quite a bit. Of course I always use the basics, Tabasco(Red, Green, Chipotle), Salsa Picante, Cholula, Tapatio, and Red Hots.
My favrotie not-so-common sauce is:
It’s great on everything, even by itself. 100% Organic for you yuppies!
I’m a hot wing fanatic. The hotter the better I always say. Nothing feels better than a numb-face and belly full of crispy chicken. Buffalo Wild Wings’ ‘Blazin’ sauce and ‘Mango Habanero’ wing sauce are two of my faves. Wingstop’s ‘Atomic’ sauce is another.
Mix it with horseradish dijon mustard and mayo for an awesome dipping sauce.
My parents used to have a 1.5L bottle of Louisiana Hot Sauce (“One drop does it!”) in the cupboard. While I did not think it was possible, the sauce slowly went rotten and lost much of the flavour which had endeared it to me. It was very mild–not even as spicy as Tobasco–so I could douse my food in it without fear of becoming a victim of spontaneous human combustion.
I have always been intrigued by hot sauces because I could never stand the pain that seemed to come with them. Do you hot sauce veterans have any advice for increasing one’s spicy tolerance?
This one? It’s good on eggs.
Grow a pair, it’s just hot sauce. Concentrate on the fruity, sweet, savory, and earthy notes of the sauce, not the adrenaline-fueling sting left on your tongue.
Yes, that is the sauce.
Thanks for the perspective, Catboy. Next time I encounter hot sauce in the wilds of whatever kitchen or eating establishment I find myself, I will take your advice.
EDIT: So as not to get too turbo posty, I will thank you for your insight in this same post, Mr. Childs.
It’s no so much learning to increase one’s tolerance. It’s more about your natural tolerance and how much the heat chemicals naturally affect you. If you’re sensitive to the chemicals then a habanero sauce will be too hot to the point of real discomfort. If you’re not sensitive then that same sauce might be a nice dip for tortilla chips.
i love the way hot sauce tastes, but i have never been that good with dealing with the heat(i reach for the water jug shortly after eating some). my bud makes the BEST(and hottest) HOT SAUCE EVER!!! he wont freakin tell me wats in it no matter how much i ask (probably because i wolf down an entire big bowl of it with some nachos, fish, etc then chug water jugs for about 4 hours afterwards ,lol!) that stuff packs a HUGE punch! imagine packing 1000 of the worlds hottest peppers into one bowl…thats wat its like…but ITS SOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!:D:D
That stuff is amazing mixed with some buttermilk ranch dressing. It’s not really spicy at all but the flavor is sooo good.
You are a stronger man than I…I barely got through one of those…me and my dad and stepbrother all tried one, and a gallon of milk later we were still gasping for breath.
sriracha. that’s the stuff. pure amazing. in fact i’m going to have some now.
p.s. i think my hot sauce=orgasm line is worthy of a sig. maybe it’s just me.
The hot sauces that I currently have in the fridge are:
Organic Harvest Foods: Habanero Pepper Sauce
That is one of my favorites. It’s a thick sauce. Great flavor. Perfect hotness. No extra funny flavors added (like lime and carrots), just peppers.
Iguana XXX Habanero Pepper Sauce and Iguana Radioactive Atomic Pepper Sauce by Half Moon Bay Trading Company.
The Atomic version is supposedly 50% hotter than the XXX version. I don’t notice that much of a difference. Good sauce though but has a bit of a vinegar and lime flavor in it.
Castillo Salsa Habanera Orange and Green.
A good sauce for tacos and such.
