@home

So my internet is down from @Home. I tried calling to see what is going on, and I am told that they are transferring my service to another network. At least I think that is what they told me, I don’t quite remember.

The good part is I am getting 2-Days credit for every day that I do not have service.

SO within the next 7-Days I should be up and running.

Just Thought I might let you guys and gals know.

They had us up the following day (sunday) … we were going to buy a month
of dialup and dig around for DSL providers if they were going to take a
whole week.

As it is, we’re still going to look for dsl. A company says we can qualify
for IDSL since we’re about 12,000 ft away from the nearest local office
… a bit too far for ADSL.

Not bad…

At least you guys have access to broadband!!!

Still 56k at home. “Wireless DSL” is available in the city limits at a
cost of $55 a month/$500 set up charge. Cable internet access was promised
in April and is still not here. I called them (Charter Cable) at lunch and
they say maybe in the first quarter of 2002.

Sigh!

i heard something like that on the radio this morning… they also said
any email that was sent to your @home accounts is lost… hope it wasnt
anything important. :stuck_out_tongue:

Geez, I hate it for you. I got hooked up on a cable modem about six months
ago and now I couldn’t imagine going back to dial up service. I also like
not having to log on every time you need the internet. I had to pay $150
for a setup/installation fee and now they advertise it for free. :frowning:

I’m in the same boat as you right now. No cable internet in my side of
town, but I’m in range for DSL BUT, we don’t have any DSL providers yet!!!

Then we got Wireless DSL but you have to buy the equipment $$$, and
outside antennas are a no-no in my apts. :frowning:

I have @home through Comcast cable and so far so good, no problems, still
getting all my mail etc etc. The only thing I have noticed is when my
browsers home page came up this morning which is the Excite regular site
not the Excite @home site I got a message that said I had to click the
word YES if I wanted my page customization settings to transfer to the New
Excite. Whatever the heck that meant when the page loaded it was the same
old http://www.excite.com page with my customizations.
