You’re right. This country fell into shambles under the Clinton administration. This is one period of history we really need to avoid repeating.
Seriously, though, people were saying that Hillary was holding the reins when Bill was prez. Now why would the roles have suddenly changed?
Really, what kind of conflict are you talking about? What interests are conflicting? Hillary’s gonna base her policies on whatever pleases Bill? Why would she all of a sudden kowtow to her cheating hubby?
This makes little sense. You’re going to have to elaborate.
I thought we weren’t supposed to call women secretaries anymore. Can we just call her the Administrative Assistant of State? How did Madeleine Albright and Condoleezza Rice feel about this?
As do all former Presidents, Bill is taking in huge sums of money for books, speeches, personal appearances and whatever this big non-profit agency is that he is running. Some foreign governments have been making big contributions. Hillary is too close to this big money. Money can sway decisions. Will her decisions be in the best interest of the country or her husband’s wallet?
I never understood why the people of New York voted for someone who moved there for the sole purpose of running for office so she could run for President. [opinion] Hillary Clinton is a carpetbagger. [/opinion]
We’ll have to see if it ever registers on the Bush (43) Administration Corruption-O-Meter.
Isn’t Hillary from New York? She married a guy from AR but I don’t think she grew up there. In any case, the people of NY are pretty particular. They’re not easily fooled…
Reminds me of a line from the original (1951) Day The Earth Stood Still movie, where the little boy is talking about the Secretary of State, or some other major Washington secretary job. “My mom’s a real secretary. That man they call the Secretary isn’t a secretary at all.”
So… book publishers are going to select Bill’s books based on US foreign policy? Colleges are going to deny Bill from speaking opportunities based on policy?
I don’t see the connection there. Methinks you’re grabbing at straws.
Me too. Good for him! He served his country for eight years in it’s hardest job. Any money he earns that way is completely legitimate, and doesn’t involve spending or redirecting any of ours.
He may get paid more for his gigs in exchange for special political considerations.
When you have lots of funds at hand via the massive theft machine that is government, you can’t really expect it to not be a factor in the price people will pay him for his gigs.
