High School Musical goes to the circus

I have just found out the best news today. Our musical this year is going to be Barnum. This of course is a play about Barnum from Barnum and Bailey circus. It promises to be an spectacular musical. The best part is that they are looking for people who can do circus stuff. Luckily, I’m the only one who can unicycle and the second best juggler in our school.

sweet!!
I wish I could do that…it’d be fun.

Tres cool. Have a blast!

Is whoever plays Barnum going to do the tightrope routine?

There’s a sucker born every minute.

Both Barnum and Leleche League http://www.lalecheleague.org/

I’m a big fan of musical productions. Have a great time. Wish I could experience it.

Nipple Nazis.

There, I’ve done it.

According to many reports, including a display at the Barnum Museum in Bridgeport, CT, Barnum never actually said that. But it can be thought of as a summing-up of part of his business philosophy.

His old American Museum in New York City (late 1800s) had an exhibit called “15 cents to see the Egress.” People paid the 15, went through the door, and found themselves outside. A vocabulary lesson!

Barnum was also the mayor of both Bridgeport, CT and Port Jefferson, NY. A scene from just outside Port Jefferson:

(That’s me unicycling down the dune. The ferry that connects the two towns rund through the inlet at the back of the picture)

I’m sorry to say most of my school is not circus apt as I am. I would do it if I got the part though.

dude thats so awesome… our muscial this is yea is Honk… :\

I’m almost surprised nobody has posted with an opinion saying that you are only further perpetuating the stereotype that unicycles are circus… though with only 10 replies, there’s still plenty of time for that :stuck_out_tongue:

Hope you have fun

Really I don’t think of unicycling as part of the circus. I just think of it as something to make juggling look even cooler.

The Leleche League never said that either, but they advocate breast feeding, so it’s apt.

Billy

oh god… We did that last year…

I did backstage, and about 3 weeks into practice, I exploded from the lame storyline and songs. Then my parents had to pay cleaners $400 to get my bodily fulids and entrials off the curtains.

i wish i could do barnium bailey thing, im gonna learn to slackline soon
