Hey there!

Hey all! Just thought I should stop lurking and post something. I’m new to this unicycling thing. On a whim, I decided I want to learn to unicycle. So, I bought a 24" Torker Cx off craigslist yesterday and have been making some attempts at unicycling (with a little success, I must add!) I’m going to see if I can manage teaching myself to ride with the help of the posts here. If not, it’s off to the Twin Cities Unicycle Club practice to have some seasoned unicyclers (unicyclists?) help me out. I’ve found the posts here to be very helpful! Any suggestions for a newbie like me?

Main things I’ve gathered so far:

  • Sit up straight
  • Put your weight on the seat, not the pedals
  • Don't give up!

It’s been fun so far!

Unicyclists is the word that is usually used here over unicyclers. Good luck learning to ride! Obviously the key is practice, and a good healthy dose of determination. When you fall off remember to worry about yourself and not the unicycle and you should be fine. That’s about it. Once you can ride in a straight line, there’s a whole world of ways and places to ride.
