how long did it take for you to setup the connection sharing that you did
recently…?
also, do you know how it compares to the win2k connection sharing, in terms
of something like being preconfigured for various protocols to access the
internet… (like aim…) ?

About 5 min, using Mandrake’s control center. It installs & configures, bind

  • caching settings, DHCP etc…

if your “server” uses a modem connection you have to edit
/etc/sysconfig/network and manually remove the gateway entry. Small bug in
the 9.0 wizard… Took me forever to figure it out… should of just checked
mandraks site. :wink:

No idea, I never used win2000, and I only use XP for racing sims… err…
