heres a newbie guide.

hey you newbies heres what you should learn. first learn how to ride almost as far as you want of cuarse. and then learn how to turn (about a 80 degree turn) maby try idling (coming to a stop and riding backwards a pedle) or hopping, then hopping up a object (or over)then try hop twisting a 90, then theres wheel walking (puting your feet on top of the tire and walking the wheel) then theres riding one footed (taking one foot off the ped;es for a little while and riding) and riding backwards (ride normaly then come to a stop and riding backwards) have fun!!

and this is just a basic… im not that great myself but…no one give me a bad reputation just cuse its not that informative pleease

okay heres the deal…if any NEWBIES have any questions about unicycling ask away! and good luck everyone!

A+ thread would read again.

I agree. Bravo on this malevolent guide, that I am sure that many people will benefit from. Such superbly well written prose of a tutorial. Not any spelling or grammatical errors at all…

what about riding with seat out in front/back?
I think that’s easier than wheel walk.

OH, standup coasting. Or backwards gliding. Try it!

Errr be better tutorial if you explained how to do do those things |D

I learned to ride not that long ago, and all I have to say is just keep trying because your body needs to innately learn. Doing it with friends is great, especially ones who are also learning or have recently learned. Leetz0r pwnz0r uni’ers who do unispins and ride trials and stuff don’t remember what it was like to be a n00bzor b00bzor and their advice is often beyond the scope of what you’d need to learn.

here’s an ordered list of the skills i’ve learned (not many, but i hope it helps), the approximate times (for me only) and requisite skills:

riding forwards - 2 hours - nothing
regular freemount - a week - forwards
idling - 2 weeks - forwards
jump mount - a minute. just get over the fear - freemount
rolling mount - a few more minutes - jump mount
backwards - 1 week - idling
idling one-footed - 10 minutes. the easiest progression… - idling
forwards one-footed - a week - forwards
one foot extended - a week - regular one-footed
hopping - there’s always room for improvement with this - confident freemounting helps. pogo stick experience, perhaps?

turns, twists and other basic skills just come along as you ride around and gain more balance. i think it’s good to have a to-do list and to know in what order things come. people are welcome to ammend or expand on this list.

well… iam trying to learn bunny hops but i am unable too?what do you think i should do?

practice, search the forums for tips on hopping, and practice.

Try hopping in one place with the pedals level and just keep at it. you’ll get it eventually.
