This is probably a really stupid quetsion but I need it answered. Whenever I try to view something on windows media player through firefox it says I need to download the plugin. So I download windows media player (even though its already on my computer) and I still get the same problem. When I click “Click here to download plugin” it says no suitable plugins found, Manual install. So I figure that I need to download windows media player, and it still doesn’t work. This has been bugging me a lot. Is there something I can do to download it and it will work?
I am on a windows 98 SE computer
With firefox 1.0.7 installed.
Go to Tools >> Options >> Downloads
And click on the Plug-Ins… button
Check to make sure everything there is enabled (has a checkmark by it)
To endable a plug-in you click on the dot
To disable a plug-in you click on the checkmark
Do you have plug-in options there for WAX, WM, WMA, WMV, and WVX files?
What version of Windows Media Player do you have? Firefox requires version 7.1 or greater. What version of DirectX do you have installed? I don’t know if the version of DirectX would have an effect or not. You can run the DXDIAG utility to find out what version of DirectX you have installed.
