Help! UK Residents

Hi all–

I’m looking for some help from across the pond. You have the possibility of making my about-to-turn 14 year old son have the best birthday ever.

Along with being a unicyclist, he’s probably the biggest fan of the BBC show “Top Gear” that you could ever meet. Last time he had to go in for a haircut, he wanted to bring in a picture of Richard Hammond to show the stylist what to do with his hair.

Anyway, I’m looking for some help in getting a couple of things for him related to Top Gear for his birthday. One is a little plastic figure of The Stig (it was a keyring, I guess) that was sold all over the place in the fall. I can’t seem to find it anywhere online now. Do any of you know of places that I could look to find one? I’ve checked the usual places (eBay.co.uk; amazon.co.uk; the top gear website and BBC shop). Are they still around in stores?

The second thing is a Scalextric Ford GT with the Stig driving (he already has a Scalextric set, but with racing Minis).

The last thing would be an “I am the Stig” t-shirt, but I can find those. I was hoping to find a place that would have all this, so I wouldn’t get hammered by shipping costs.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance …

This web site looked good but just seems to go to M&S: http://topgearchristmasgifts.linedigital.net/

I’ll ask my 14 yo son who is obsessed and has all the DVDs.

Good luck!

Hehe, my 23 year old brother has that… from ebay.

More keyrings here

the same as the one above,

and this one looks like an official one.

Great–thanks, all! Got him a keyring, t-shirt, poster, and custom magazine cover that says he’s The Stig! The eBay links are great, too–I’d thought that there was co-coverage of all eBay listings (regardless of whether it was .com or .co.uk, etc), but apparently not. I’ll keep my fingers crossed on that Scalextric car!

The little remote control stig cars are also great.

That show is awesome and fun. We first saw it when in Switzerland for Unicon, but more recently it’s available on BBC America or whatever that channel is called in our Dish Network lineup.

yes after the reinvention it has been rather more about amusement, it used to be a somewhat serious car review show with none of the boys toys or genreal dicking around that goes on these days. Personally I find it too annoying to watch regularly.
