Ship me your comp and I will ship it back fixed.
Seriously…if you’re talking about the taskbar…
click the bottom edge of it and drag it down to the bottom. Simple. Also, a fun way to piss people off if to make theirs take up half the screen.
its not that easy, i tryed that. i can drag it down half way only. i cant push it down from the top either…?
nO JUST KEEP GOING DOWN. IT WILL POP DOWN THERE. CAPS LOCK. DONT FEEL LIKE RETYPING.
Edit: Do what Steve says, this apparently doesnt work on XP. Weird.
Click on the center, not the edge, of the bar and drag it down.
You should be able to move it top, bottom, or either side of your screen that way.
Yeah, as said, click in the middle of it, and drag it where you want to have it.
Edit: if there is 2 “bars”, click on the lover one! At the bottom, where the windows go when you minimize them.
jeez that is strange…i figured out how to move it but is not very predictable. i had to click in the center and make a quick swipe down and it worked. whats weird is it doesnt acually drag to the new place, it disapears and then reappears on the other side of the monitor in the direction you swiped the mouse…?
it only does it by left clicking and holding in the middle of the bar, then swipe.
its win 98 im using, thanx for your help everyone. the task bar on top is nuts, who would want that?
Jagur you noob! haha… Acually if windows came and the bar was on the top and it went to the bottom you’d probably get mad that it was there also. The top is pretty much the same to me but the side is just bad. Who uses the bar on the side!!!
Unix people (depends on their choice of desktop though). BeOS people. Weird people.
no, when the bar is on top, it covers up the X on the window so you have to go out of your way to either move the window down then X it out or use cntl. somthing.
Maybe you turned off the “always on top” option for the taskbar. Right-click on an open place in the task bar. In the menu that pop up select Properties. If there is an option for “always on top” then select it. That will prevent the taskbar from covering up parts of the application windows.
i think that “always on top” means that the task bar is always on top thus covering the top of the window?
edit: if the task bar is on top i mean.
I can’t remember how it works in Windows 98. In Windows 2000 the “always on top” option does not cover up application windows. It effectively shrinks the size of the application area of the screen. Try enabling the “always on top” option and see what it does.
I’m using 98 yeah the new window is supposed to pop up in the area not used by the tool bar and it does the same being on the bottom or top. You can also choose hide tool bar and it will minimize and re’apear when the pointer is ontop of it. Hide tool bar doesnt work well if your computer is to slow though.
Jagur you’re still a noob.
We really need to start up a “Buy Jag a good computer and cable internet” Fund…
Jag is like “the” top poster, and the last thing we need is for his comp to be throwing his curve…
hey that would be nice!
i want a lap top, my wife is tired of this hulking mass of PC, eye soring up the living room. i almost had a deal for one in trade for the kh frame but i didnt think it was worthy of a straight accross trade. i need to get at least a little cash for that frame…
its a good thing i got the drag the tool bar thing mastered. every time i restart my PC now its on top? everytime!
Right click it and see if there’s a “lock taskbar” option.
How bad is your comp?
