Helmets

When do you wear a helmet??? i only wear a helmet when i know that there is a high danger of me hurting myself…is there anyone else out there that is like this or just doesn’t like wearing one??? I just find them to be annoying…

I would find on usefull when gliding, or jumping from a high place to something skinny.

i always wear a helmet, always.

HaHa, what kind of uni are you riding ?

a K1 Vadercycle, they havent released it yet, its a one of a kind model that they made me. I also replaced the cranks with some Nimbus Sandtroopers too. I got it in ABS white too.

I’m thinking about switching my tire from a GL Force to a LS Yoda

I knew you were sponsored, but dang you got the hook ups !

Yeah, that happens when you take over a Rebel medical outpost.

This thread just became ridiculous.

Thats what CC-5052 said when we made the switch. Thats were some great days back in Kamino.

ey onle wre 1 wen i now i wont hrt myself, den wen i geat hrt i lok HAWT 4 da ladezz!!1!!

i like ur style

So do you and unibikeling have the same sponsor then ?

Of course, thats before he followed up order 66 on Felucia, then things started to get messy. But damn, he knew how to use his DC17’s and DC15A’s.

Getting back on topic…
I rarely wear a helmet, I know unicycling’s dangerous, and potentially deadly, but that’s a pretty huge ‘potentially’. I haven’t fallen on my head, not even close, the closest I’ve ever come was on my side (stopped by my upper arm) or on my but (always tuck my head in if this happens), I learned how to fall so I wouldn’t get injured.

The only times I wear my helmet are when I’m learning new things and when I’m riding to Dan’s place, only because his Dad won’t let me into the house if I haven’t worn my helmet on the way over.
waiting for huge, ranting, angry criticism

If there is one thing this thread should NOT do it get back on topic. Then it will just join the other 100 controversial helmet threads. One day the forums will reach the critical mass of self-righteous helmet whining and then - poof - an gigantic douchebag chain reaction will occur that could pull these forums, and perhaps the entire world, into an near-endless run-on sentence plagued with helmet arguing related thread derailments, misspellings, and commas, ending only when people stop arguing on the internet, grammar nazi’s shut up, people use the search function, people stop yelling at other people to us the search function, and … people use ellipses correctly. It’s a dangerous road to go down.

Anyway, The one time I make sure I’m wearing a helmet is when I’m bullseyeing womp rats in my T-16 back home. Did you know they’re not much bigger than two meters?

People wear knee pads, shin guards, and gloves to protect their knees, shins, hand and wrists, etc.
Why not protect your dome?
I “know how to fall” too, and in all my years of bike and uni riding I’ve maybe hit my head once. That’s the exact reason I choose to wear one… that one time out a hundred that I’ll need it.

If that makes me self-righteous, oh well… I’ll get over it. You will too.

I really need to get me some safety gear. I think that’s what’s holding me back from going out and pushing myself to try new things. I learned to hop and kinda ride backwards this summer, but now I want to push myself, but I don’t want to wreck myself in the process. Figure I have all winter now to get a helmet, shin and wrist guards and then I’ll be set for when the snow melts.

I usually wear a helmet when riding MUNI or when practicing potentially dangerous grinds.

I always wear my helmet. Not because I need to, but because I love my helmet! It’s a union jack one, and I think it is awesome

Just after I’d bought my matte-black helmet, I found out that Bell makes a chrome one. That’s what I get for not doing my research!
