I agree with helmets for most sports/activities but I rarely go faster than a
jog on my unicycle so don’t find a helmet necessary. When I buy that 28" uni I
might change my mind though ( <- Helmet smiley

I use my helmet for road riding, but that’s the only time. The only reason I
wear one then is because when my wife got a bicycle, I said she should have a
helmet. She thought if she should have one, then so should I. I keep my
rear-view mirror in the helmet, to encourage me to wear the helmet. When I
forget the mirror, I go get it, then figure I might as well wear the helmet.
BTW, I’m one of the fractured skull cases one of the other writers referred to.
I broke the skull at age 7 when I got hit by a car. Helmets didn’t exist in
1966. I guess this should make me a big helmet advocate, but actually the
experience was sort of fun. I got some good food and toys. Not the sort of thing
I would recommend, though.
This is why I’m glad i don’t live in CA. I have the choice to put on a helmet,
or not, without fear of the police fining me. In CA, your also an outcast if you
don’t wear a helmet. I found that out.
