My name is Connor, I have been snooping around the forum for about 2 weeks and am very interested in what I have seen. I have been learning to unicycle for about 3-4 weeks and 2 days ago it finally paid off. I can ligitimately ride a unicycle…which rocks for the non-unicyclist :D. At the moment, I own a very low quality 20 dollar (US) unicycle. It’s a 20 inch and it’s been good to learn on (I guess). After learning and all, it’s went through quite a bit, including broken bumpers, extra foam in the seat, and a cracked pedal. Obviously, you get what you pay for. Anyway, I plan to use this unicycle for as long as possible, but I am pretty sure the frame is crooked and the axle or spokes are bent, because when I spin the wheel, it wobbles all over the place.
Thanks for all the information I have already gotten. I can’t wait to learn more, and I can’t wait to get myself a new unicycle.
welcome to the forums. cool to here you’re getting a new uni, which one btw? if you learned on a trainer you should be pretty well set on a new unicycle. Glad to here you like the sport!
And congratulations! Now there’s one more of us and one fewer of them.
Unicycling is great fun, great exercise, and best of all, a great way to make new friends. Unicycling is one of the very best things that ever happened to me. I’ve made so many wonderful friends as a result. That’s why I’m always so happy to hear that someone has become a unicyclist. Because I know what potentially awaits them. So… best wishes!
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I appreciate it. At the moment, I have no idea what type of unicycle I am getting, but I am leaning towards a 29er.
What style do you think you would do most of?
If you wanna do distance/XC muni, the 29er is the way to go.
If might do more tech muni, a 24"er is great and you can still do tons of commuting and XC.
