Hello! I'm new to all this

Hello! I’m a little new to all this unicycling stuff, well actually I haven’t even got a unicycle yet, I’m still waiting for it to arrive. But anyhoo, I’m VERY excited about it and I thought it would be nice to get to know some other people and see if anyone has any helpful on advice on the whole learning to ride the unicycle thing.

umm… step one… wait for the mailman…
step two… take it out of the box…
step three… enjoy?..
good luck, and uhhh… what did you get?

Thankyou…

I think - although there’s really no need for sarcasm, I was just trying to make conversation  I got a Circus unicycle in red…apparently there good for learning on although I really like the Nimbus II, thinking I’ll buy one if the whole learning thing goes well.

right on
if the learning goes really well you should get a Muni and start riding off road… but thats just my opinion…

maybe I will…although I should point out, I’m really a bit of a wimp, I don’t even like going downhill on my bike. I am looking forward to generally getting around on my unicycle though but, for some reason, no one I know seems to be taking this idea seriously. How long have you been unicycling for?

ummmm… ive had a uni at my house for like 4 years… .but its only been about one and a half years since i learned to ride

thats exactly how i was like… cept it been about a year since i leanrt…

Hey, welcome to the boards.
I’m very new as well, but my tip of advice is find a friend you can go unicycling with. If you don’t have a friend who does, get one of your friends hooked on it. Thats what I did (and he’s already better than me).

great

man that is so cool. i just love unicycling

i’ll talk to you later

right now i’m teaching four people
2 other people learned already

thanks for the advice…I’ll do my best but so far no one I know seems to have shown much interest in learning to ride, they just keep laughing at me. Still, perhaps I could teach my sister after I’ve taught her to ride a bike…

Ha, i got the same problem. I’ve hade my unicycle for about a month and can actually ride it (a little). Balance and co-ordination isn’t exacly my forte, but we’ll see who laughing when i rock up to uni after the break on my new set of… err… wheel

muwahahahaha!!!:stuck_out_tongue:

Alright, man!

Good to hear of another UK unicyclist! Welcome!

I too got a friend into it and then had somebody to ride with. Once you can ride maybe a friend will be more into learning - people only seem to want to unicycle after seeing somebody else doing it.

Keep an eye on the forums and if you see a unicycle event in the UK, go to it. I’m in Glasgow and theres just two of us here so I go wherever I can afford at the time to ride with and meet others.

Everyone I’ve met so far has been really nice too!

Enjoy your unicycling!

T.

Re: Thankyou…

oh, a bit of a mistake there, you want a blue one mate. red ones don’t lend themselves to learners.

Re: Re: Thankyou…

alex you big liar, black’s the best, my first unicycle was called “The Black Pearl” rawr.

Only two unicyclists in Glasgow?! I guess that means the chances of me finding any in Leicester are quite slim :frowning:

I really like the squidgeon by-the-way!

That is my plan exactly…

he, he, he ha, ha, haaa!
