I’ve seen a lot of people coming to this spot to say hello for their first time. I figured I’d do the same. Hello, my names James and I’m 16 years old. I’ve been able to unicycle for a long time now, but never got into anything other than forwards or backwards. While looking for a new unicycle I stumbled across defect (internet), after buying it and watching it I thought I would do a little more. I’ve seen videos of some great riders (their names escape me now) but i’m really interested in street. I won’t ask question about tricks (I see already there are threads about them) but I may need help in other areas along the way. Hope no one will mind.
Welcome my friend, my name is Harry (a.k.a Hazmat) and let me say welcome to the forums. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me or anyone of the kind people who will help to the best of what they know.
We are like one big happy family here which you have now joined (which is a good thing of course)
So take care, have fun and enjoy my new friend.
Hazmat
You found Defect on the internet and bought it. You read threads on tricks and decided not to create any for a while. Your introductory post had some meaningful writing, not just “Hey, Im nu lol omg”. And you’re probably the only person that I’ve heard of who can ride forwards and backwards, but not turn left and right.
A big hearty welcome to the forums. If you have any questions - go ahead and ask. I’m pretty certain that a person like you will use the search feature first. I don’t even know why I’m typing this. Try to see it as a compliment, maybe.
That was an excellent first post compared to many others (and even posts by people who’ve been here for a while). You know that a ‘search’ function exists, which surpasses many regulars by an entire year
I believe I was 16 when I started riding, but I didn’t find this site until almost a full year later. This website, along with all of the great forum members, is a very valuable resource. People here will help you with anything, literally. We have people from such diverse backgrounds that I’m positive you will find someone who you’ll relate to best. You might even find a riding buddy! …I wish I could…
Thanks to these fora I’ve rode with people in NY (broken my finger) and learned about NAUCC/BUC/GTW and many other conventions. If you live in the US, I hope to see you at the 2007 NAUCC@MI.
If you need any more information I will do my best to inform you.
-Joe
PS: I want to get DEFECT… I’ve only seen the ripped scenes on google video…it would be nice to own the DVD…I might be able to get my LBS to play it even!
