Hello everyone.

First off, let me say say hello, a few months ago I horribly broke my arm and my doctor said no unicyling until 3 months after my surgery date, which was 6 weeks ago.

Secondly, I’m getting a Torker DX unicycle for Christmas, unfortunatly I’ll have to stare at it wishing I can ride it for 5 weeks before I can.

But my question is, since this is my frist ever trials unicycle, I was wondering what part of the unicycle should I first modify, my money isn’t of abundance but any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks

You should modify whichever part breaks first. Just hold onto your money until then. Once you have a splined hub for trials, working on technique is more important than upgrading gear.

First thing I would do is take the saddle apart and modify the foam by cutting wedges out of the front and back as well as a grove down the middle. Makes the seat MUCH nicer in my opinion and doesn’t cost a dime.

And welcome to forums!

The DX should last you awhile.

The seat is pretty bad, but you get use to it.
I would save every penny I got and buy a KH.

If I had to pick a part to upgrade on the DX, I would get a KH street seat.

I think the LX has the most uncomfortable seat. Cause i had both and found the DX more relaxing. :stuck_out_tongue:

Depends on what type of riding you are doing, if its strictly trials then the DX seat is generally far to large for most people to hold well enough in one hand seat in front.

Nothing on the DX needs to be replaced unless it breaks - which it wont for a long while because its a great little trials unicycle. I might only suggest modifying the saddle foam by cutting it down like others have suggested. If you aren’t comfortable doing that then you could buy a KH street saddle.

I rode a DX for a year which had also been ridden by a previous owner for a year. Its now onto its third owner which I think is amazing, these things really last. The only thing I changed on it was plastic pedals because I ride street and didn’t want to ruin my shins, the seatpost clamp for aesthetic reasons and swapped the seat out for the KH street saddle. Its actually pictured in my avatar (with painted cranks.)
