Wow that’s really sad. I just watched “Lords of Dogtown” again, in which he starred. Excellent actor.
My 16 yo was saddened yesterday upon hearing the news.
Batman or Not?
Did this happen after Ledger finished filming the new Batman or after? I would hate to have to wait for it more
Someone DIES and all you think about is, “I wonder when the new batman movie comes out…”
Actually I wondered the same thing, I think he did finish filming for it.
Thats what I thought about too… then I thought I shouldnt be thinking about that. But I still did. And lightning is yet to strike me down so he are all good. cowbell
What’s worse is that I didn’t even know who he was when I saw the news flying around. I had to look up his name on Wikipedia to see if I should care or not.
I don’t watch TV (except for the occasional MythBusters) and don’t watch movies much either. I haven’t seen the last Bat Man movie and am not likely to see the next one. I haven’t seen any of the Spiderman movies. No way would I go see Brokeback Mtn.
His public celebrity and movies mean nothing to me. He did however have family and a daughter. That is the sad part.

Maybe he’s simply not interested in the subject matter. Nothing homophobic about that. Just as a homosexual might not be interested in watching a straight couple fool around, doesn’t make him a “heterophobe”, lol!
Yeah, Batman is in post production so it won’t be delayed.
Because of the controversial nature of the film, Brokeback Mountain, and because one can infer from John’s comment that without knowing anything about the actors in the movie he had long ago decided that he would actively avoid seeing it, his comment about it leaves itself open to multiple interpretations, not all of them benign.
It’s not the same as saying no way would I go see Aliens vs Predator: Requiem. You’re not likely to be dubbed an extra terrestrialophobe as a result.
John is, of course, free to elaborate or not. I have no doubt that he is cognizant that his statement is open to various interpretations.
