This has to be one of the funniest Family Guy episodes in a long time imo! It was on this past Sunday! The Bird is the word!
Oh man, I totally agree with you. It’s been a long time since an episode of Family Guy made me laugh so hard. Only the first halve actually. After the record being stolen, it wasn’t that funny anymore

I loved the whole thing and have seen it three times now and laugh as hard each time lol! I remember that song when it came out in 1963! That’s a big part of why I love the episode so much! They obviously weren’t worried that a huge part of the viewing audience might not be familiar with that old classic song…but it’s so funny that it doesn’t matter if they know the song! They do now lol!
My friends and I were discussing this and we agree that it was the funniest family guy in a very very long time. We think that it has to do with the fact that they had a long running joke that went along with the plot instead of just a random “remember the time” or “it’s kind of like” joke where they have something completely separate from the plot.
The bird is the word was so well orchestrated and I literally laughed out loud while watching it. I haven’t laughed that much during Family Guy for at least 2 years now.
“Brian NO!” haha! Lights go on and Peter nose to nose with Lois as he can’t stop singing…“the bird is the word!” “…and there’s James Dean after the accident!” Crap there were so many funny parts! Brian sees Peter has fallen, and thinks he’s out cold on the kitchen floor, with drool coming out of his mouth, but then jumps up and continues to sing that song. camera cuts to Stewie as he pulls out a gun and puts it in his mouth! Lol!
And in that 50’s restaraunt, Peter reads off the menu: “Hamburger, fires, a COKE!..awe…you kids don’t know what I’m talking about”. 
And the Mayor West bit: “Sir, our scientists have proven that the bird is equal or greater than the bird.”
I wonder how they will top that.
Haha yeah that was good. And then two guys in the audience watching Dane Cook: “Is he saying something funny?” “I don’t know, but he’s moving around a lot, so…I guess”
Gay cow sticks head out of top of limo: “Wooo! I’m in Hollywood! See, I said I’d do it!”
