Hardpack Monty MUni

Wow, I took my Monty for a ride on some tamed down hard pack trails and I had as much fun as I ever had on my MUni!

Sure You can neggotiate a lot less of the terrain, to an extent, but on the other hand, having a trials uni on the trails all of a sudden opens up a lot more lines, as well.

I never once wished I had been on my MUni instead, and I got just as good of a workout.

It was a little odd at first, as I explored how the trials uni would handle things differently, but I got used to it really quick and was able to go up and down what I thought would be too tough.

My first trials/urban/MUni ride on my 20" w/125’s lasted for about 20 km’s.

I will be taking this on all the trails I know of that are hard packed, as this is a whole new area for me to explore. I still won’t give up the MUni, of course, but this is a neat alternative!

So as you can imagine, my Monty now sports my free Roach Saddle cover!

Sofa,

Last summer I Muni’d on a Monty to help keep my rides compatible with my
son on his 16" wheel and yep I think it’s great fun!

I haven’t noticed that I can’t negotiate the terrain as well. The
diffrence I notice between my trails/Monty and KH24 on Muni is that the
KH24 is a lot faster and makes the ride more exciting. I Also feel like
my little feet are turning, turning, turning to go faster, faster,
faster on the Monty. On the KH24 I never get the same cadence due to the
longer cranks.

Also, I have an air saddle with a Roach cover on my trials uni too.

Have fun!

Cheers,
Jason
