On a related matter, my son’s PC game is hogging most of our C drive, so I’ve just started putting my docs, etc. on the D drive which is pretty empty. The problem I can see is that everyone has access to the D drive, so my user password is useless. Is there any way I can use my user password to protect files on the D drive?
I’m probably a lot higher up in the scene than you are, it’s generally not a good idea to promote piracy.
If you are promoting it, it’s done in IRC channels, and specific forums that are completely based around piracy.
If you don’t know what I mean by “scene”, then go ahead and post whatever you want.
Use encryption, if you’re on Windows XP you can just send it to a compressed folder and then add a password.
No al my keygens/cracks comes with a *.txt of where it comes from. Why would i dish that out?
And im not promoting. Just advising her on one of her options which i feel that i no the most about.
there is no need to crack partition magic.
First i am sure there is a free tool that can do it. WHy hack when you can do it legally?
then secondly i only said partition magic cause i never use those programs, i always use Linux to partition my drive… i dont think advising piracy is something people should do.
If you want to/do it then just go ahead and do it just no need to boast or talk about it in a forum totally unrelated to it.
And for what she wants to do a 30 day trial version of parition magic would have been fine.
Oh dont get me wrong , im not boasting.:o I do however beleive that with the 30day trial it only gives you the ability for certain features, or to show you what you can do with it. it wont actully split, resize partitions. I think thats why i went to my neighbour for a copy of it. Otherwise i would of just used the 30day trial myself.
*.txt is kiddy scene.
Real scene uses *-GRP.nfo
Never even heard of that:( *.txt is great. Alot of cool stuff comes from using a txt pad:P If it wasnt for text files there be no unicyclist.com or even unicycle.com
All I’m trying to say is, don’t talk about piracy in public like you have been.
I no, i shouldnt, i was just letting her no of one of the options open to her.
Even johnfoss steals
Haha i think this thread should be long closed by know
Recording from the radio for your personal use is not even the same as pirating software. We can legally record from the radio and TV. That is the reason we can legally use VCRs. You are not breaking the law when you record a TV show using a VCR. Same goes for recording radio.
You can’t make a link between recording radio or TV with piracy warez. You just can’t make the justification that way.
What johnfoss referred to doing is legally considered fair use because it’s time shifting of a broadcast that he had the rights to listen to at the time of recording and his use of the recording is noncommercial.
Indeed. Make use of the free and often open source tools that will do the job you want. The free and open source tools need users and supporters to build the community and get traction for the products.
If everyone continues to crack popular programs like Partition Magic instead of using the free alternatives then the free alternatives suffer. The free projects need users to use and promote the free software. They need users who learn the product and maybe help out in the support forum. They need users who might write up a tutorial or blog about it to get the software more recognition.
All the people who continue to pirate the commercial alternatives are just less people using and possibly contributing to the free alternatives. Piracy is not doing the free software movement any favors.
I’m getting more and more tempted to give pkplonker a tutorial on no/know/now. “No” what I mean?
What, did I mention Limewire, and my early-days use of Napster??? Yes, all I’ve done with my radio recordings is play them back for myself, and so far none have been made into digital files.
For privatizing your stuff on the D: drive, sounds like maybe the PC game should be the thing on the D: drive, allowing you to keep your data in with the rest of your user files. Unless this will negatively impact the play on that game.
Im usless:D By all means teach me if you want:D Might be a good lesson for me since im doing my GCSE mocks at the moment. haha cya:D
Okay, Lesson One (sorry about the poor topic back there):
Read before hitting Submit. Read what you wrote, slowly. If this turns out not to be effective, look specifically for occurrances of the words no, now and know. If you need help with which is which, there are resources out there to help (including us). Just reading more stuff will help. I think the best way to get better at spelling/writing/grammar is to just do lots of it, but only if you look back at what’s coming out.
Lesson Two:
After hitting Submit Reply, read what you just wrote. If you notice problems use the Edit button and fix them. Going back and doing the fixes also helps you learn not to repeat them later on.
I now know what to do and what not to do
Is that correct?
Something’s missing…
I now know what to do and what not to do.
Is that correct?
What about now?
lol if u dont know what .nfo files are then you really don’t know much about cracking lol…
@john_childs – i totally agree with you, piracy only hinders the open source/free software development. Look at microsoft jumping to conclusions saying that everyone buying a PC with linux and without windows will have a cracked version of windows installed on it.
here is a more constructive lesson for you

they might be closer to the truth than you think…
