Aww I wanted to post a thanksgiving thread but you beat me to it. You also cheated today is thanksgiving not yesterday!
It’s not quite thanksgiving yet, here… Mmmm food!!!
Where the hell were you guys a month and a half ago? oh yeah, the U.S.
The origins of Thanksgiving (at least in the United States) is that of a deeply religious holiday.
I see neither separation of church and state nor religious freedom in George Washington’s Thanksgiving Proclamation. It’s just dripping with the Almighty God (and It seems to be the Christian variety too). But nevertheless, that’s what the US government said way back in 1789 (no mention of turkey, though).
Happy Thanksgiving! And remember, when you are thankful today, you must be thankful to God and God alone (not John Drummond as an earlier post indicated). Otherwise you are not doing Thanksgiving right. Atheists and agnostics – just eat turkey and watch the parade.
I just wanted to wish everyone here a happy Thanksgiving. I hope everyone has a wonderful day full of turkey and more turkey.
Ok, i’m late, but I thank God for the life he’s given me, it’s challenging, but theres lots of blessings also, I think we need both to really live.
Happy thanksgiving all,
Andrew
yeah, cause we all know that there arent any Atheists or agnostics helping in food lines, putting coats on kids or helping the homless…only god fearing Christians do charity things like that on thanksgiving…
I get 2 thanksgivings since I have canadian relatives!
That’s right. Atheists have nothing to fear.
Ah, now I understand. I just noticed your “sarcastic face” (which changes your meaning totally). You must think I’m a God-fearing Christian. I was just saying how George Washington and the US government want you to spend the holiday – and pointing out how good old prez #1 leaves the atheists high and dry on turkey day. I wasn’t giving my personal opinion on how you should spend the day.
HEY!
