Happy 142nd, Canada. This thread might be overshadowed by a subsequent “4th of July” thread, but oh well. I think we have a reputation for being meek and modest, anyway.
What do Canadian riders usually do for Canada day? What are you doing this year?
I suppose this thread could do double service as a “Canada discussion thread”. Talk about all things Canadian. Drink a bottle of maple syrup while wearing a toque and playing hockey. Praise the gear that you recently bought from municycle.ca. Celebrate the repatriation of our beloved Tim Hortons. Boast unapologetically about the health care system. Tell your favourite Newfie jokes. Et cetera, et cetera.
I’ve ridden in the middle of 10000+ people today in Ottawa, but nothing really spetial, I might go for a small Coker ride to got watch the fireworks. I almost forgot, I ate Hamburgers too:p
Getting s#!tty on Caribou and vomitting on an ice palace
Cheese that I think is called “Fromge en croute” or somesuch. I’ve never seen it anywhere else, so it might have just been crap fed to me in drunken stupor. But it was delicious.
Sorry, couldn’t resist. Actually on my first reply I was adding edits but got called away and then they timed out. I grew up about 30km from Windsor, Ontario and am a big Canada fan. If I were in Detroit this weekend I’d go to the Detroit/Windsor International Freedom Festival and see the huge fireworks display they do every year on the river. Good times.
Canada was also home to Unicons V and VI, not to mention Darren Bedford and Kris Holm!
