hey: 60th birthday that’s important!
e-mail champagne from France!
Happy birthday!!!
Maybe one more flip to celebrate? =p
Happy birthday Pat!
You’re an inspiration to us all.
Don’t forget, you’re only as old as the number of pedal bites on your shin.
Happy Birthday. And I hope I’m still unicycling on my 60th.
Thanks!!
Thank you all very kindly! It’s been an interesting six decades.
Life is good (despite getting laid off from my job at the end of April). My oldest daughter got married in Nova Scotia a couple of weeks ago and I had the pleasure of escorting her down the “aisle” (married outside in a beautiful setting north of Antigonish.
Last Saturday was my “child bride’s” 54th birthday and we attended Penn State’s Homecoming and marched in the parade with the alumni (Three of her four degrees are from PSU - I became a fan by marriage). I dressed up as a Blues Brother and wore the Heelys that Penny got me for my birthday. If you’re not familiar with Heelys, they’re the shoes with wheels in them you see kids riding in the malls. Anyhow, I cruised all over the parade route handing out candy to the kids on the side.
Today is a bit gloomy but I plan to haul out my 28" Sun Uni for a short ride to commemorate the day. Nothing as dramatic as my 50th when I did my last-ever standing back flip.
It looks like I will be running one of the ski/snowboard race programs at a ski resort in Vermont this winter so I can’t wait for the snow to fall.
On November 4th we’re flying to Miami to board The Freedom of the Seas - the largest cruise ship ever built. You may have seen the ad with the guy surfing the wavepool on the back deck. I can’t wait to try that.
Almost forgot - it took 60 years but I picked up my first sponsor. The Long Trail Brewery presented me with a beautiful Nitro snowboard with Long Trail Graphics.
Sixty… Does that mean I’m now officially a SEXagenarian???
Pat
WoW standing backflip at 50 I can’t do that now.
Your awsome man.
that gave me a crazy idea:
next time a company lays off an OGOOW (Old Geezer On One Wheel) the others geezers go and start picketing on unis in front of the company headquarters.
I am sure this is so unusual that this will make the local headlines! And we can make it funny!
Wonderful suggestion!
Okay, it’s a chilly day and the wind is blowing but I bundled up and did a short (half mile) ride on the uni and hung it back up in the garage. Snow may be falling in Vermont this weekend. My mindset is shifting to alpine racing!!!
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone!
Pat
Happy BDay!
Many more to you. A fine example for us all!
Happy B-day
I think you inspire a lot of us younger riders.
To know that your 60 and still unicycling and boarding, doing races, and all your other activites. Just goes to show us there is no such thing as getting old!
Happy Birthday again!!!
