I usually skip over these, but Nathan’s a guy who definitely gets a Happy Birthday from me (and Jacquie)! Looking forward to riding with you and Beau as far as I can keep up on the Tahoe ride in a few weeks…
Man! That is great! THANKS to all of you. As it happens, I did have a happy birthday. I was on a family trip staying at a friends house near Yosemite. It’s really remote and he can’t see or hear any neighbors. We drove down to Yosemite Valley on my birthday and did a 15 mile ride around the valley floor: Beau and me on unicycle, Grace on her recumbent, my mom on her bike and our 4 friends also on bikes. We actually managed to do it without riding any roads (other than a couple of miles that are closed to cars). The trails were great, some difficult sandy and rocky sections, but of course the Coker tires just float over everything, even with 125mm cranks. The weather couldn’t’ve been better. Sunny, warm, not hot. The waterfalls were out in all their glory, even the unusual ones like Ribbon Falls and Horsetail Falls. Today we did a fun hike, completely off the beaten path to a viewpoint where you can see Yosemite Falls, Vernal Falls, Nevada Falls and Illillouette Falls. Anyway, it was an awesome weekend and birthday.
