Happy Birthday. Have a great trip, ride when we get back.

From one cigar smoker to anotherā€“Happy Birthday man!
May many fine stogies color your future unicycle rides with excellent blue clouds of cigar smoke!

Thanks everyone!

I spent the greater part of my birthday in the Sacramento airport. I just got back this morning on the red-eye, and slept a good portion of the day. My best present is how hard my 5 year old son is working to finally ride the uni. He can ride several revolutions now, and is very serious about learning. (As serious as a 5 year old class clown can be, anyway.) Thatā€™s a really great present!

I had hoped to have a custom coker to ride for my birthday, but itā€™s not ready yet. Everything takes longer than you think it will - several months longer sometimes. Oh well, Iā€™ve waited 44 years for it; I guess can wait just a little while longer. (Hopefully not much!)

All in all, itā€™s been a great year. Iā€™ve met a bunch of cool folk ā€“ most of you only electronically, but you probably like me better than you would in person. I smoked a stogy on my muni! What else does a guy need?

My goal for next year: figure out how to get to ā€œLevel 11ā€!

Chase, I have had to cancel two trips this summer because of work, but Iā€™m sure weā€™ll get to ride before the year is out.

Thanks again for the birthday wishes. I hope we can all ride together soon.

Well wheeling wishes!

For your birthday I have arranged for you to borrow a Coker in the event that after 7 months your Custom Coker still isnā€™t ready.

Thanks for the effort, but I didnā€™t register in time.

Plus I would need something besides my 29er to do long training rides; itā€™s just too light and squirrelly to crank out ā€œmeaningfulā€ 30+ milers. And I would not plan back to back 45 mile rides on something I hadnā€™t trained with.

Correction: It will only be 6 months waiting in September. (My deposit receipt is dated March 18, I think.)

But it was a great birthday gesture. Thanks!

If you buy a wheel, I have a spare custom frame you can borrow. I have magaged to have two built in less than 2 months.

Besides, it is only another $15 for registration, the deadline is race day. Too bad not having a Coker is going to be the reason you will miss a second ride this year.
