Big, bad Brad turns 13 today. No more kid-ager, now it’s the teenager status. We’d like to say that we took him to the Hilton Hotel in Springfield for his birthday, but more accurately, we stayed in the Hilton this weekend for the youth conference and it just happened to be over his birthday. But on the way home this afternoon, we celebrated and opened presents at Arby’s before we hit the highways back to Rochelle.
The bellhop at the hotel wanted to pose for a picture with Ben and Brad. Brad’s in the Spectre sweatshirt.
I couldn’t have asked for better children…er, excuse me…teenagers. They are the joy of my life.
Congratulations, Young Yooper!
I think thats kinda funny that the bellhop wanted to pose…you should tell people its a very famous soccer player, when I looked at the picture without reading it first, thats what I thought q-:
No reason other than he was a very personable guy and there were some 800 kids there this weekend. The guy was having the time of his life interacting with all the kids. At one of the Saturday morning seminars, the speaker was handing out clothes pins as part of an illustration. So for the rest of the weekend, the kids were sneaking up behind each other and attaching clothes pins to each others clothes. The game was to see how long it took for the “pinned” one to find the clothes pin. While I was taking the picture of the bellhop with the boys, Ashley was sneaking up behind our bellhop friend to attach a clothes pin to the epplet on his coat. You can see the top of her head just behind the guy in the first photo above. He gave me his email address so I could send him copies of the photos. I asked him how long it took him to find the clothes pin. It was quite fun.
The bellhop was actually a pretty good basketball player from what he was telling us. He played in college somewhere and according to him, was a top-rated player. Just from getting to know his character and personality this weekend, I believe him.
