Ol’ Bennie turns 18 years old today. Man, I can’t believe it. We moved to Rochelle when Ben was 2 weeks old, now here he is ready to go off to college in the fall. Ben has done well for himself and we are extremely proud of him.
He’s off this morning to spend the day with his wonderful lady friend in Dixon, IL. Courtney has a nice birthday gift for him, then she going to take him shopping for some nice clothes. She will be taking his senior portraits and has in her very artistic mind what’s best. Can’t wait to see the photos.
Mary and I bought him a sub-woofer system for his car, some 1300 W system for his little Escort ZX2. He should be rattling down the road to the sounds of Skillet by the weekend.
Generous, schmenerous. It was self-preservation. Ben was hounding me about a aero bumper/spoiler/skirt kit for his car. Evidently, he found one on the ZX2 forums for some $450. A sub-boomer system was much less expensive so I bought it and quickly wrapped it. “I’m sorry, shopping’s all done, Ben.”
Plus, boomer control is all about amp-limiting, my friend.
Yesterday, Ben and Courtney spent the day together so she could take photos for Ben’s senior portrait. Courtney has such an artistic eye and did an excellent job.
So Mary and I have narrowed it down to two. Mary and I don’t have quite the artistic eye, but I know there are quite a few photogs on the forums so we’re interested in your opinions.
All the photos can be seen here. Courtney even took a couple videos of Ben unicycling. (He did nail the hop-on-wheel just off camera :))
