It was the day in 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was drafted by the American revolutionaries.
Harper is a British Loyalist, which is why he is being watched.
a
You see i did know that i was testing you lol
Hehe damn us british and our rain
I’ve been swimming almost all day, and I’ve eaten wonderful food. Yum.
It’s a day where people celebrate their patriotism for a nationalist government and forget what this day in history really means.
We should be taking out the Declaration of Independence and read it, and then compare our current government to the one that the representatives of the colonies declared independence from. We should remember what the result of this document was, which was that the colonies became free and independent states. We should then be seeing if the states are still free and independent states. We should also look at what drove these representatives to need to declare independence and compare that to today.
The really ironic thing is that originally this day was celebrated by those that had the views of Thomas Jefferson, while those that had the views of Hamilton celebrated Washington’s birthday. It’s Hamilton’s view that our current government most reflects. I wish people would realize what the significance of this day really is, which is that each state in the union is a free and independent state and the union only has a few limited powers.
We shot mini fireworks in my dad’s backyard (suburban neighborhood), and we had this little spinning thing that you lit and was supposedly just gonna spin around and light up on the ground. Instead, it spun, let out this banshee-like scream, and shot like 50 feet into the air and into the neighbor’s yard. Luckily we’re good friends with him.
…so are you promoting the Articles?
I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free. And I’d gladly thank the men who’ve died to give that right to me…God bless the USA!
Yeah buddy, we stuck it to the Brits!
We just finished lighting our stuff for the night, this year we had a set of rather big stuff (Don’t know what they’re called, big shells that go up and do the usual firework thing)
We’ve been messing around with firecrackers and bottle rockets for the past week or so already.
Haha I’ve had those ground spinny things fly into the air before too, lit our grass on fire once even, breifely.
Heck yeah!
