I am so interested to see if I can build an UW
and then MAYBE learn to ride it…when I saw this idea it comes to mind that this could be a step to building muscle strength using no seat and stop wheel wobble like a normal U W.
Could this be a missing link learning tool between normal seat uni and UW or do I miss something?
It also seems easy to construct handlebar post for quick release frame.
So,
Has anyone ridden one if so thoughts please.
I also posted in the uni photos thread but thought might not get views there.
Any and all info welcome, THX!

I’ve ridden one in my early days of unicycling. It’s even easier than riding seat in front (SIF) extended. If you just want to build strength, ride SIF. If you want it for the fun and the look, go for it. Another cool thing that you can do with this is: on person rides on a normal uni and pushes the handlebar uni in front. A second person rides the handlebar uni holding the handlebar behind him, just like a figurehead. Jumping such a uni is also fun.
I was going to write the same thing. Slightly easier than SIF without the seat touching the body, but more of a fun novelty than a training tool.
Go for it if you’d like to do some tinkering and have something to play around with for variety, but if your only goal is to practice for an ultimate wheel, just work on seat in front riding. All the SIF varieties will give a nice progression, for example: two hands with seat braced against the body, one hand with seat touching the body, seat away from the body with one or two hands, seat held only with one finger…
but I reckon SIF is learned while riding and then pushing the seat between ur legs, where as with this contraption there is nothing to sit on and you need to step on and take off right away. Im sorta used to getting on the UW and standing upright as soon as my second foot hits the pedal. But of course anything can be learnt if you try hard enough.
