I’m a bit familiar with blackhats, whitehats, cyber-anarchists and hacktivism. Two interresting events are coming up
The first event
Even if the attack may be succesfull I think it is an useless method. The web used to freedom of speech. But today is seems the web is the place to take away freedom of speech of others. People expose more and more they can’t handle freedom.
Since the scripts that wil run the attack are widely published, they should have been able to take serious precautions.
Second event
The Moscow New reports:
Russian Computer Expert Predicts Internet Terrorist Attack
The Inquirer:
Internet Meltdown
This attack is targeted to the US and Europe. So one particular victom is k.root-servers.net.
I’ve seen one server of k.root-servers.net once, and even tested the DNS software it runs within the unicycle.net network.
Internet pioneer/engineer Paul Vixie warned before that this one day will happen. But I don’t think he knows what Vinton Cerf has been doing a couple of years ago in Amsterdam.
I don’t think this 2nd threat wil succeed. But I wont say it’s impossible.
So tommorow you might spend more time on the seat in stead of behind the keyboard.
