anyone out here play? I just got into it last year. What can you guys play?and on wat kind of guitar?
I play guitar. Been at it for 4 years now… I do hendrix SRV area stuff. But as well Satriani and some more intricate legato patterns. Don’t even want to start on kinds of guitars… I had a serious problem with this when I started.
I’ve been playing with a guitar for about 4 months, I just screw around on it though and don’t play anything in particular. I just recently got the hang of bar chords, which is pretty cool.
Been playing for a little under 4 years. Self taught.
First guitar was a peavey. I love that guitar. I scalloped the neck on it and it plays so amazingly.
2nd guitar was a Epiphone Les paul Classic. Very nice feel to it, and great tone. I like the feel of epihones way more than Gibson.
3rd is a Eleca electric/acoustic guitar. Beautiful blue finish and amazing tone for that guitar. Sounds just like a martin.
4th guitar was a Fender Squire. Feels better than real Fenders. I messed up the pick-ups but it still plays great.
5th guitar is a 1976 Hofner 12-string guitar. Got it for free from an antique shop. The neck was slightly warped. I fixed it.
Last guitar is an Epiphone Flying-V. Great feel and weight. Perfect action, nice humbuckers, very nice to solo on.
I have some mediocre recordings of me on my myspace.

I played alot then lost interest and am just getting back into it. All I got is a Kay Hummingbird. But it’s so nice for playing blues slide guitar.
Sad guitar story. My sister is quite financially strapped but managed to save enough to buy her son, 13-year-old Sam, an electric guitar this past fall. He’s taking lessons from a guy in their church. She says its the one thing that she has been able to do for him and it was extremely important to her. I got to play with him during our family get-together over Thanksgiving.
Two nights ago, someone broke into their car and stole his guitar. My sister is heartbroken. Sam is devastated.
Here’s the happy part. My family was able to get together and buy this on eBay. It’s not the best in the world but it will do just fine for a deparate 13-year-old boy. We’re having it shipped to his house as a surprise. Wish I could be there to see his face.
Edit: Does this link work? http://cm.ebay.com/cm/ck/1065-29392-2357-0?uid=11943646&site=0&ver=EOIBSA080805&lk=ItemDescriptionANDimage
Hmmm…the links don’t seem to be working. It’s item #280058035271 on eBay.
I started playing about 40 years ago and own a Martin D-28 from the early 70’s.

About the same here except mine is a Gibson J-30.
I have an aucustic… I’m not sure of the brand but it’s kinda nice… I just mess around with stuff and I’m not good at anything. But I can read music… I guess that’s something…
I love your mess around…
I’ve been playing for 7 years.
I’m mostly self taught…but i did learn how to read music from a teacher.
Guitars: Yamaha CG101MS, Ovation Celebrity, Martin Backpacker, Schecter 006 Elite Diamond Series, Carlo Robelli (Junk), Montana (nylon), Kilo (Ukulele)…
That about covers it. I also had a squier strat but i let someone borrow it and never saw it again. You can listen to my music @ my myspace…which many of you probably already have with the Unicycle Song. The First two songs aren’t anything impressive, but the last two show my guitar ability a bit more.
I’m listening to Phish - Stash right now…well now the song changed (to Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing), but Stash has one of the top 100 Rock Guitar Solos.
I sold all my stuff and bought an Alhambra 6p a few years back.
TOP: Red Cedar (Canadian?)
SIDES & BACK: Laminated Indian Rosewood
NECK: Spanish Cedar
FINGERBOARD: Ebony
Although, now I’m uncomfortable with the idea of harvesting exotic woods…
…If I had the money, my next guitar would be a salvage build.
Also I’ve got an electric Frankenstein, pieced together from a guitar graveyard, it’s a beast, a horror show spray painted to rock, chased out of town by the villagers, and looked down upon by polite society. It’s an experiment that reaches deep into musical soul and sacrament, left within the confines and solitude of my parent’s garage in the suburbs for so many years before it was resurrected only a few weeks prior this post… A zombie amoung us that, with a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter, can be heard directly through my computer speakers. Yes punk rock, you are dead and the world stopped making sense at that point of immaculate conception.
been playing ukelele for 2-3 months ,self taught
I’ve played for about 2 years, self taught. I can read music, because I play the violin, but I can’t really sightread for guitar very well, and only on the lower frets. I recorded some Joe Satriani covers that you can listen to here…they’re nothing incredible or anything, but I think they’re alright.
been playing for 9 years now. Don’t play a lot but I like to pick it up and play around every now and then. My current weapon of choice is a Cort G-Series. It’s a strat knock-off, and I’m plenty happy with it.
I play folk music on mine. Mostly Dylanish, Guthrieish protest music and such. I do other stuff tho… I also kind of collect guitars. I have a 1963 Harmony Archtop (aucustic), a 1960 Harmony Rocket (electric), a crappy nameless '70’s aucustic twelve-string, a really good Yamaha twelve-string acustic-electric, a Rouge Resonater and a Carlos aucustic.
Okay it’s a “Jasmine, by Takamine”
I don’t really know anything about guitars…
all i do is just find stuff and try to play it… i got a baby tayor, but i outgrew it, so i’m gonna get a '51 telecaster relic. I don’t know too much about guitars, but this is wat my friend(who knows guitars) told me was good.
