guitar hero thread

i got guitar hero for wii on christmas. i can 3 star some songs on hard now! how are you guys at it. what do u think of it? my guitar instructor acually told me to play it to make my fingers more independant of each other(i had dumb fingers) i can play some of the songs on the game on my les paul, but i still need some work

check this out!!! I WANT ONE OF THESE! AK 47’S MY FAVORITE GUN!!!

The game is pretty fun. Ive fived starred all the songs on expert now. I havent had a chance to play online yet though, cause it can never connect for me, but I can play halo 3 online just fine.

I guess it gives some dependencies for your fingers, but theres no better way than actually playing your real guitar.

Guitar Hero is a genius concept for a game. It gives non-musicians some sense of the thrill of making music. It’s no wonder so many people are hooked on it. It’s too bad though that it ultimately doesn’t teach anyone how to play the guitar.

I’ve never played it, though. Maybe I’d try if they came out with Keytar Hero or Theremin Hero. That would be pretty cool. :stuck_out_tongue:

Or even

One more, for the haters:

<3 XKCD

Never played GH, but it looks mildly fun.

has anyone heard about that kid that won the car from being the best in the nation? that kid goes to my school!

i have played(i dont own it), but i sucked anyway and dont like video games anyway:p

Does it work for left handers?

Yes, you just change it to lefty in the settings.

I like the concept of it, would really like to try it someday. But I would need to buy a PS2, the game, the console… that’s too much money to spend

I’m probably going to buy Guitar Hero III for 360 soon. I played guitar hero II for a little bit. I’ve only beat it on Medium and Easy, trying to learn Hard/Expert.

my buddys rock band (everytime we fail) is ranked number one in the world on Metallicas “Enter Sandman”

my brother plays GH3 an average of 4-6 hours a day, no joke. He’s playing it right now too… He’s going crazy cause we also got surround sound for Christmas and I can hear the bass from the speakers all the way in my room, 1 story above him.

Mild?

A coworker brought Rock Band into the office the other day. We played it in the auditorium on our 10-foot projection screen w/ surround sound. Kickasssssssss…

…we started at 7 PM and had to stop at 2:30 AM 'cause we were all hungry, tired and dehydrated. Way too much fun.

I cant wait to play Rock Band.

I like the drums, but wish they made them with double bass, but even with out its fine (Toe/heel or slide technique =p). People will actually be able to play the drums on Rock Band and then be able to have some sort of idea on how to play a real drum set.

As someone with no rhythm who has tried out several instruments and failed at all of them, I’ll stick to listening to my music, not making it. It’s just not for me.

Guitar hero is a rhythm game, just start on easy and work your way up. Then youll have some rhythm.

You dnt need any musical skills either. Im a good guitar player, but I sucked at guitar hero until I sat with it for hours and got better. Playing the songs on expert on GH is harder for me to play the actual song on the guitar. lol

Failed? Lower your expectations. There’s no failing in music. You want proof? Just listen to the radio.

Isn’t that the same as someone who picks up a unicycle, tries if for ten minutes, then puts it down saying they don’t have the balance for it?
