Groom Lake, NV

Better known as Area-51, has captured and held my interest for many years now. I saw another documentary on the Discovery Channel tonight (or maybe it was the History channel) about it. I had seen this particular documentary/series of interviews before, and I’m just about positive that I’ve seen them all, but it’s just a topic of so much controversy/disinformation that I can’t help but watch them over and keep being interested in it.

I’ll share a bit more once I find out if anyone else has any interest in this mysterious place. I know there are a few of you from NV and CA, so I’d like to hear some of your views.

Okay, so nobody know anything about Area-51…

I’m just dying to know what sorts of technological secrets lay beneath the surface of Groom lake…

…Apparently I’m the only one :o

Me Too!!!

Check that out.

Theres some other weird ones out there too.

That’s weird.

That is area 51 from space.

This too…

Do I believe in the possiblity of intelligent life on other worlds? Yes. No reason to think they can’t have interstellar space travel either. Are 99% of the photos and films I’ve seen of supposed UFOs fake? Yes. The other 1% probably are as well.

I lost any interest in so-called “investigative” UFO TV shows after watching one a few years ago that chronicled a well-photographed and videoed sighting of lights in the sky in Phoenix, AZ a few years ago. They had all kinds of photos and videos taken by people in various locations. Then they proceeded to take wild guesses about the distance away these things were. When anyone who really wanted to know would triangulate the various images with the locations they were recorded from, to find out pretty accurately exactly where they were. They were not “investigating.” They were not using the scientific method. They were trying to create entertainment for the gullibile.

The alien autopsy footage was a fake. It looks fake. It has been debunked by forensic experts as to many errors in the setup of the lab. If it was supposed to have taken place in the 1990s, what’s with the black & white? Etc. etc. I’d love to meet some friendly aliens. But wishful thinking isn’t going to bring such a day any closer.

I never said that film was real, its just weird. =p

Yeah, I believe in aliens, but not so much the alien autopsy videos. I’m just incredibly interested in the technology that’s being withheld from us. I’ve ‘heard’ that they have scramjets capable of mach8+ there, but that too we have no proof of.

yeah, project ‘aurora.’

i find the secret projects facinating.
i’d love to find that that plane exists.

Yes, ‘aurora’, that was it. That’s crazy. I thought I read somewhere that the F-14 Tomcat was tested at Groom Lake before it was put into production.

If we’re talking about the same thing, that’s true. I had a presentation from the president of Applied Thermal Sciences, Inc. They do governement contract R+D work. link. They just tested a scramjet that went somewhere around mach 8… if I remember the numbers correctly. Also here… click on the pretty red thing in the upper right. They’re working on the scramjet engines that do over mach 10. Pretty cool stuff. Quote from their site:

It did exist for a short while, was scraped in the end, supposedly after a crash.

the scram jets were tested about a year ago I think. Or maybe I am wrong about it but I think it was in the news.

You guys are talking about propulsion systems, right? Not manned aircraft. Missles & such. Aerojet makes some interesting products along those lines. My company redid their web site last year:

I still dont think that, even if there is life out there, which there probably is, that they would take the time and effort to travel the millions of light years to our humble solar system just to fly about in our atmostphere and give us the heebeejeebies.

Maybe they learn enough about us to give them the heebeejeebies, so they decide not to say “Hi” and just mess with us.

Maybe they live longer than us and what would seem like a weekend trip to us is only a couple milliseconds to them and they have to spend a couple million light years out here to be equivilent of a weekend vacation for us?

lol, it would sure give me the willies to encounter our race and lifestyle for the first time with no previous knowledge. If i was an alien i would be doing alot of messing about, it would be fun to beam up peoples cars and replace them on the other side of the street, or just flip the car so it is parked illegally etc. Beam up peoples under shirts so they get chilli during the day, you get the drift
