The film explains it. This won’t work everywhere, but in some cities, I could see it being the next big thing.
Whaaaaaat?!?! Thats pretty cool. I don’t know though. What about fresh produce? or veggies? or fresh anything? But people are so addicted to their phones that it might catch on.
I like to pick my fruits and veggies
Yet if the quality of the fruits and veggies seemed good , when it got to my door, awesome. Saves all that shopping time. We are talking inner city folks with low delivery cost here. I think in certain inner cities , a new delivery -driver industry will meet this market demand.
Interesting. The subway station idea is great marketing. You’re in a virtual supermarket, whether you intend to buy anything or not. If the idea catches on, you wouldn’t need the life-sized images. Oddly enough, I can see where paper catalogs could make a return, if only to be scanned by smart phones for virtual shopping!
We get a box of fresh fruits & veggies delivered to our door every two weeks. From local organic farms. It works! Also, Safeway is bringing back their online shopping. The groceries (in their case) come from the same store you would go to if you were to pick it up yourself.
I just went on line to look at Von’s home delivery service. It’s kind of hard to lumber around the site to see how it works, but I do see their delivery trucks in my neighborhood on occasion.
If they make a virtual store app. for smart phones people could be shopping while on their commute home (as long as they aren’t driving). Maybe the local restaurant’s could get into the act and you could have a nice hot meal waiting for you when you get home.
The possibilities are virtually endless.
