Hello. I’m Bogdan and I live in Romania. A few years ago I’ve bought my first EUC and after learning how to ride it I wanted to try a “real” unicycle.
My first unicycle was a used unicycle and it was love at the first sight. Since the day I bought it, I’ve been practicing almost every day. Well, I am a slow learner… Still trying to learn/ improve basic unicycling skills.
During the last two years I’ve got more unicyles while testing my unicycling skills in different circumstances: https://www.facebook.com/105987547473569/videos/863409520784908
This is my biggest unicycle: https://www.facebook.com/bogdandebuzau/videos/10214258914857830/
And this is the most strange unicycle that I’ve got (it felt like relearning how to ride a unicyle again): https://youtu.be/FUQCBl8x5-Q
Nobody taught me how to ride a unicycle. I’ve used YouTube and the old version of this forum. I don’t know why I waited until now to register in your community.
I’m glad I’m here.
Nice to have you here, better late than never.
Hi, welcome here! I saw many of your videos. Nice, to have you here too.
Welcome I’m new rider also .
Welcome to the forum!
Wow, I see new member are not necessarily beginners! You video inspires me to get on the grass sooner rather than later. Also to get back to juggling. Thanks.
I’m amazed at how even your progress is, displayed in the video. When I learned to unicycle, my progress was all over the place. I was steadily getting better, but only in a statistical sense. In your video, practically every subsequent ride shows you going farther. So, my question is: Was that your first session on the HuniRex? If so, your adaptation was extraordinary.
The problem you seemed to be overcoming in the video was the tendency for the HuniRex to turn in the direction of the forward foot, the one being pushed down.
Cool you are here Bogdan, I’ve seen many a video of you on Youtube. Is the only prob with the HuniRex that the pedals center are not in the center of the wheel? Like elpuebloUNIdo says it makes you zigzag quite a lot. At the start of the video I was wondering if the uni was a type of freewheel, but I don’t believe so. Do you think there is any advantage in having the cranks so low?
Hi. This unicycle is not freewheel, but if you push down too hard on the back pedal you fall instantly backwards. Pedalling forward requires more force, instead. These may explain why it makes you zigzag a lot. Having the pedals this low is an advantage, because you have plenty of UPDs when riding this uni.
Read the comments of the videos in the links that you can find in the description of the video. You’ll find find the answer to the first question and much more.
I was amazed, too. LOL.
I only needed two sessions. After my first session I thought that I will never be able to ride this unicycle. After a night of sleep, I tried again and the brain simply knew what to do. The problem with the wobbling still exists. I guess I need more training. But now there is another problem that I can’t identify and which makes riding this uni more difficult. There is a free play of the “cranks” that increases every ride. It may be caused either by chain wear or the wear in the cog/ chain ring. I don’t know. They look perfect and the chains are not loose. This type of unicycle definitely requires better quality components which may be a problem without solution…
