Let me first say that since NY is pretty built up, and there are no real mountains, I was looking forward to this summer, when I’d have time to travel to trails.
I was just doing a web search for MTB trails in New York, and I found a place about 5 mins away from me! Its in this place that I used to ride BMX before I got back into uni. I totally forgot about it. This place has sooo many trails that intersect all over, which makes it possible to ride about 1000 different combos of trails. I am so excited to ride there now. Hopefully I’ll get there on thurs. It was reviewed by about 15 mountain bikers, and all gave it a pretty decent review. The average rating was 3.8 out of a possible 5.

Where is it? My sister is looking for some easy trails to ride.
John
Its in Cunningham park in bayside. here is a listing of almost all ridable places in New York–> http://tinyurl.com/1h1
Bayside is in Queens for any who dont know. Will your sister be muniing there? If so, have her e-mail me, so I can have someone to ride with (so I wont be the only “idiot” riding the trails on 1 wheel). This offer goes to anyone who plans to come.

Cool. I noticed my old favorite trail on that Web site. It’s listed there as
“Greenbel LI,” though I think it’s more formally call the Nassau/Suffolk
Greenbelt Trail. Look for that one and also Stillwell (Syosset), which is
connected to it. Stillwell is more challenging, and receives a very high
rating on the site. I don’t know if I ever rode those trails or not, they
may have come along after I moved to CA.
I know it’s a little farther for you city-folk, but you should definitely
make a trip out sometime. That Web site is a great resource for trail riders
in your area!

“How many America West maintenance personnel does it take to change a
bathroom light bulb in a 737?” Based on what I saw on the way home from
Phoenix recently, three!
just came back from a 2hr muni ride at the place I was talking about. It was amazing. There was mud, hard dirt, fallen trees, and best of all, a couple of other people riding a muni. Ok, I was just kidding about the last one.
I am really happy now that I found a nice new place.
