Great comment from a traffic cop

Today was the first day of school here in Los Gatos. As my wife and I rode
away from Beau’s school this morning, a cop leaned out the window of his
cruiser and said, “Slow it down there.” Then he laughed. We were
unicycling up a hill at about 4mph. I liked his sense of humor…

As I do most of my unicycling in the local NJ Transit train station
parking lot and as often the local police stake out there, I have
been expecting one of the them to take exception to my riding and
juggling there.

Well the other night a cop pulled in and slowly rode over along side of me
and very slowly and deliberately said, “I hate to tell you this,
but…you’re going backwards”. As did Nathan’s cop, he too laughed. After
I breathed a sign of relief, he proceeded to ask me questions about the
difficulty, amount of practice required, etc.

I was ultimately particularly pleased that someone other than myself was
witness to one of my rare extended stretches of riding backwards. (Maybe
twenty yards or so).
