Got my Coker “The Big One” yesterday. I am excited needless to say! I am just not sure where the seat clamp goes. (I am mechanically challenged I guess). Does the seat post clamp go even with the top of the frame, or does it overlap? I didnt want to mess anything up. Any help is appreciated.
Some seat post clamps have a rim that makes them stop at the top of the seat post tube on the frame. That type can’t slip down any farther and it’s obvious where they go. If you have the type that can slip down over the seat post tube then set the top of the clamp just below the top of the seat post tube. You want to engage as much of the very top of the tube as possible without overlapping.
Why does Coker Cycles still show the brakes mounted on the front in their literature and on their website (www.cokercycles.com)?? Niavely I assembled my Big One like in the instructions with the brake in the front, but if you do that you’ll tend to bump the brake with your legs which can cause a UPD! Obviously the easy solution was to just flip everything around. Problem solved. Just wonder why Coker hasn’t bothered to change their literature, instructions, pictures etc… or at least provide some information about alternative configurations? I understand that brake in the front may not effect everybody.
Thanks for the replies. I will have to see if there is a rim on it. I am not sure about that. I will have to look into the brakes situation too, I haven’t gotten that far in the process. Again, thank you so much!
