goodbye smoking...hello MUni

hey peoples. so i suddenly decided to buy a 24x3" MUni last week without any unicycling experience. it was fun, until i realised i was a smoker and could hardly get anywhere without having a ciggi…so goodbye smoking!!! my MUni got the better of you!!

anyone else quit smoking for a uni??

Well, little did I know that when I quit my 2-pack a day cigarette habit (32 years ago!!!) it would be the best favor I ever did for myself (besides quitting drinking in 11/87) and has enabled me to MUni like a madman today! :sunglasses: :):stuck_out_tongue:

PS: congrats in quitting!

cool thanks, wicked encouragement! i cant wait to MUni like a madman too!

muni like a madman… quit smoking!
well done for quitting too
smoking is on of those things i will never try or do. ive seen what it can do to people, and to be honst its isnt nice at all.

congratsulations,

i might quit one day, but not now, i just enjoy it, lol, it calms u down and releases stress

im not to addicted tho, i just need one during school and work sometimes, i shuld be alrite

Thats excellent to hear! I’m definitely proud of you, good job!

congratulations! are you going to do other things too?

I hear that heart attacks are pretty stressful. My sister smoked like crazy until she dropped dead from a heart attack at age 50 a few years ago.

LOL.

yeah  the money i would have spent on smoking each week im gunna put into unicycling gear. i was practicing my free mounts(?) a few days ago and came off pretty bad. couldnt walk for a day. and the back of my legs look like stripped bacon. so yeah…saftey heh :o

vanpaun, PLEASE stop yelling and swearing. Smokers will get it or they won’t. The only thing your message will change is others’ perceptions of you.

Haha you tell 'em Jeremy! But seriously, when someone also has loved ones who have died from smoking, it hits home pretty hard and gives you a whole different perspective and a wake up call as to just how bad, nasty and insideous the smoking habit is!

+1 on the message in the yelling, swearing post, only without the yelling, swearing, bad spelling and missing punctuation. Arguments are always more effective when delivered clean and concise.

Congratulations to all smoke-quitters! If you think you’re not addicted to nicotine, the most addictive substance you can buy without a prescription, prove it to yourself. How long can you go without a smoke?

shut up. just shut up.

im going to laugh when you get hooked on cigarettes and cant stop. its going to be hilarious.

but really. just leave. go away. for real. your retarded. the internet is for sane people. maybe when you get a bit older you can handle the freedom of the world of online forums. but for now, you cant.

How is that possible?

HAHA!!! I bet you will try a cigarette once.

You dont know what you are saying. I have come so close to losing my dad. He tried to kill himself. stabbed himself in the stomach. I have come close enough to know what it feels like. I thought he had finally done it.
Then a year later, he was hospitalized for totalling a harley.
You dont know me.

Cut him a break, smokers have no more right than us to hack up phlem in public. Lol. Okay, joking. Its a serious matter. I lost a loved on to smoking. It was a long drawn out thing. My grandfather smoked for… 60 years? He was around 70-80 i think when he passed away about 2-3 years ago now. Before he had died, around a year or two before, he had to get part of his left lung removed. Then, he had to get more surgery. In the year before he died, he had horrible breathing ability, and, to him, it felt like he had a pill lodged in his throgt. It was cancer in his throgt. There was a big family decision, and his own decision. He went through a little kemo therapy, it didnt really help. Then, he decided he wouldnt get surgery. Well, more so our family. He became highly disoriented in his last weeks. I remember, a week before he passed away, he hugged me. In all of his disorientation, he hugged me, he actually knew for a second what he was doing. I’m fairly sure im the last one that he had actually hugged. That hits hard on me. I have some good memories of him

I will never try a ciggeret, i plan to never drink. It can mess up your life a lot. I have perfect examples of things that can screw up your life, i know people whos lives are messed up BECAUSE of drinking and smoking, and drugs in general. Its, affirmitively, the only way for me to reach my goal in life. You look at any band, what’s their corruption? What made them fall apart? Drugs, drinking, crime. Stuff like that. That’s why i decide to stay clean. I WILL NEVER drink, (minus occasional champagne for holidays), and NEVER smoke.

There’s certainly no need for this kind of negativity, he was trying to send a good message. He clearly has some sort of personal experience regarding all this and was only speaking his heart. While I agree with John that a clean and concise argument is much more effective, vanpaun wasn’t hurting anyone.

Also, why are you so convinced that he will try smoking? I’m almost 21 and I’ve never even considered it and that’s never going to change.

Don’t try and act so much older and more mature than he is, you are only a year older than him.

Welcome to our friendly forums and to the world of unicycling. We don’t always get along perfectly, but even so, this is one of the nicest places on the Internet. Glad you have joined us! We also like to talk (sometimes heatedly) about religion, politics, and other emotionally charged subjects.

Hope your injury wasn’t too bad. Pedal pins can make hamburger meat out of your legs.

hey if you haven’t smoked, how do u know it isn’t nice

thank you tom thanks heaps
