I just saw Good Night and Good Luck–the movie about Edward R. Murrow and Senator Joe McCarthy. It had many parallels to today, except today there is no one like Edward R. Murrow…
Being a loyal American, I loved it! Has anyone else seen it yet?
I’ll talk about it. I watch way too much TV. I’m usually reading or playing the guitar while I’m doing it, or doing housework, or paying bills, or planning a Sunday school lesson, or plotting a putsch, but if I actually listed the number of shows I watch regularly and those I happen to see on occasion it would scare the crap of me. Oh yeah, or on this infernal site.
I’d go to the movies way more often if I could just ditch this damn family I somehow acquired.
Yes, but you’re a practicing Atheist, who teaches Atheism in the Church of Atheism. So you don’t have to threadjack and make BIG proclamations about it. You are a good quiet Atheist.
I saw it last week, it’s very good. George Clooney has only directed good movies so far. I jsut loved teh high contrast black and white cinematography.
The story was also quite powerful.
I actually know Fred Friendly’s son, Andy I took a course from him when he was a visiting professor.
