I finally watched the Jason Garfield video. Wow! I saw Chris Bliss last fall on a cruise ship The musical juggling was the highlight of his act, which was otherwise standup comedy. I don’t know how the Bliss video got to where it was being forwarded all over the world, multiple times, but if he had anything to do with it he’s a genius.
Jason’s a genius as well, because now his video is following the Bliss video all around the world, generating huge publicity for both of them. The 5-ball version is technically awesome, but I hope nobody thinks that video was done all in one take. I wouldn’t expect it to be in any case, as I’m sure he put the act together in response to the popularity of the Bliss video. That’s an awfully long time to do constant 5-ball tricks!
As a non-juggling audience, I would like the Chris Bliss version better. The Garfield version would probably tire the mind of a non-juggler and wear them out. It’s supremely suited to an audience of jugglers though. Musical choreography with juggling is easier to follow with a smaller number of objects. But this doesn’t matter. They’re both great acts, and both jugglers are still getting their videos forwarded all over the place, as evidenced by this thread. I’m surprised I only got them personally emailed to me a couple of times!
Cruise vacations can be really nice! It depends what you’re looking for in a vacation. For starters, I’m not the only one vacationing, or planning what to do. In this case, we had a group of 10 family and friends.
One downside of cruise vacations is that you’re probably not going to bring a unicycle. I usually don’t anyway, as we have a “family separation” of unicycle trips from “us” trips. Our recent Hawaii trip was an exception (pictures to come).
Great videos I haven’t seen before. Coincidentally the other night on TV I saw the first showing of the new Fatboy Slim music video, which consists of Chris Bliss juggling along to the new song That Old Pair of Jeans.
