Damn I hate private golf courses. let me start by saying I have been playing golf for a number of years. Today I was riding my Uni on a Walking/Bike path and got a ton of shit for being on a unicycle. (there was a family of bikers right behind me doing the same thing I was) I was told by a 2some of golfers that I should take it (riding a unicycle) somewhere else. I was fine with that and started riding off and they came up to me in a cart forcing me to dismount and talk to them about why I thought it was ok or not ok to ride on a golf course.
This course is owned by the comunity I live in and by law is concidered a public park, so I had all the right in the world to be there as they did. Why do I know this? Because my neighbor is a Cop and happens to not like the golfers so he makes sure the kids in the area know the law and dont get pushed arround by the golfers (they tend to do it alot).
So I get the told about how riding a unicycle is ruining the course and I should leave. I just said I’m trying to pratice, I’m not bothering you and your golfing, and tried just to move on. So they threaten to call the police on me. And stop me from riding away. Thats bull shit.
After a heated one way conversation of them yelling at me telling me how I’m not a member of the course. And me just taking the crap from them. They start asking for my personal information and telling me you think your so cool dont you. My responce was I’m a unicyclist how can I be cool? I refused to give them my personal information just on account that they demanded it from me and had no right to have it. At this point I just walked away because they started talking about getting out of their cart and fighting me over this stupid thing.
I am really begining to hate private golf clubs. The think they are better than everyone else.
